Must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years of driving experience, (does not have to be a school bus).
Obtain a valid CDL with at least a "B" rating with Passenger "P" endorsement, School Bus "S" endorsement and air brake requirements.
The Pupil Transportation Department will assist in the steps of obtaining these requirements.
All bus drivers will be required to complete a pre-employment medical examination which affirms that they have sufficient vision, hearing, and reflexes to safely operate a school bus, and are able to assist children off of a school bus in an emergency situation.
Candidates must have a clear State and Federal records background check and a pre-employment drug test.
All new drivers must complete 24 hours of training (12 hours of classroom and 12 hours behind the wheel). This training will be conducted on site by a state certified school bus driver trainer.
