PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Eligible for a Media Specialist (P-12) Georgia Teaching Certificate or in the process of obtaining a Media degree.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse population.
- Possess integrity and high standards of ethics.
Primary Function: To support students and staff by providing media and technology services and resources designed to promote intellectual growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison between the school and other agencies in regards to media and technology issues.
- Communicates the school’s goals and priorities regarding media programs to the public.
- Incorporates technology into media management functions in order to minimize time required for routine activities and ensure maximum access to resources.
- Maintains awareness of new developments in technology and provides relevant information to teachers, administrators, and students.
- Participates in the formation and ensures convening of media committee.
- Recomends media plan, policies and procedures.
- Conducts media plan activities.
- Coordinates an annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the media program and activities and makes revisions when necessary.
- Maintains circulation and retrieval system.
- Analyzes collection based on curriculum objectives.
- Plans with staff to incorporate resources into instruction.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
