Description |
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years of driving experience, (does not have to be a school bus).
- Obtain a valid CDL with at least a "B" rating with Passenger "P" endorsement, School Bus "S" endorsement and air brake requirements. The Pupil Transportation Department will assist in the steps of obtaining these requirements.
- All bus drivers will be required to complete a pre-employment medical examination which affirms that they have sufficient vision, hearing, and reflexes to safely operate a school bus, and are able to assist children off of a school bus in an emergency situation.
- Candidates must have a clear State and Federal records background check and a pre-employment drug test.
- All new drivers must complete 24 hours of training (12 hours of classroom and 12 hours behind the wheel). This training will be conducted on site by a state certified school bus driver trainer.
